Love the gospel greats.
I have enjoyed this record. I am a huge fan of the Bowling family.I believe mike, kelly and Terah are real Christians living and singing for the Lord Jesus Christ. and i believe there are many blessing ahead of them in the days to come. let all pray that God will work through them as they travel the roads singing for the Lord.
May God richly bless you all. all.
Do you have the song, "Do you ever think of Heaven" in a soundtrack?
Well said! It's human nature that sometimes we want more than we have, rather than being content with the blessings God has given us. Truly if we have the Lord we have everything we need!
Always thanking God for your (His) ministry of uplifting christians and reaching the lost. Praising God for All that is being done for His Kingdom!Matthew 28, 18,19,20 Love Eachand everyone of you all.
This family has always been spirtual and all about the good lord I should know I am related to Andrew Phipps. My grandmother was Elizabeth Ann Phipps who married Manley Bowman. She was the daughter of Essie Mae Phipps. But this gospel group is really good.
Deon....thanks for the "press" my friend. I actually thought that Lari had worked with the BB too...but then I remembered that BARRY WEEKS (sp???) produced their "Blind Man" record and of course my first cut and #1 single "What Salvation's Done For Me"....I am thrilled that song has stood the test of time and is still up for "Best Song" and still getting wonderful airplay, etc. I hope 2 see you in April.
Thanks again,
RG
I am looking for your CD soundtrack It will be hard not to cry. Where can I find it?
Our list of nominees are based on their work the previous year, not on their work as a whole. This keeps the nominee list different and exciting every year.
I love the new CD and so do my listeners. I get a request for, MAY THE LORD JESUS TOUCH YOU NOW, a lot. All the songs are great! Keep up the good work and may God continue to bless us all.
One thing I do appreciate about this list though, is that they tend to shy away from heavily nominating people who win everything every year in the SN Fan Awards.
Looks like whomever wrote the release needed to proof it more closely.
They will miss Greg. He's the vocal powerhouse with the Gospel Harmony Boys. I've heard them several times here in Myrtle Beach.
I LOVE YOUR SONG MOUNTAIN GO MOUNTAIN, BUT I CANT FIND IT ON CD. CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET ONE PLEASE.
i miss him
Thank you for the unexpected review. Just to clarify, all of these songs are songs that we as a group recorded in years past, and are no longer available on their original CD. We pulled in the old masters and re-recorded all the vocals. There is one song that previously had not been released by us, although we did record the song a few years back. It was a departure in style for us, but this time we thought it might be fun to include it on theis compliation of songs we recorded "Through The Years".
John, I agree there are some other women who would probably deserve recognition, but more than that, I want to recognize you for doing this article....to me it's foremost that you are thanked!!!!!!
I really grew up on & love gospel music. Thanks 4 sharing this fine article.
Don't know. That's the press release and the same thing his website says.
IS it Innovation M&C as in headline or Innovative M&C as in article?

Jeff, Sheri, Morgan, and Madison are all exceptionally talented and blessed and that's no new news to anyone.
This record is a continuation of their history and also a beaming testament to their musicianship while also showing their heart and raw emotion.
Morgan shines like star on this new CD while showing that she can sing traditional tunes like "I Need You More Today" and then kicking it into a more modern feel for "Time For Me To Fly."
In concert, Madison does Marty Stuart's part on "Working on a Road" and he tears it up! The audience loves it and rightly so. He has a great blend with his mom and dad on this song, if they are in your area - it's worth going to see them just to see the chemistry that this family has on stage.
They are wonderful people and I am blessed to call them friend, If you haven't heard this new record, "Expecting Good Things," don't walk, RUN and go get this CD.
It's the best Jeff & Sheri music to date, and I dare to say it will soon be considered the best release of the year!
looking for retired group anointin that was a family group for many years family from georgia area. can you help find them
i SAW THE rAMBOS IN CONCERT PROBABLY HALF A DOZEN TIMES BUT MISSS HER ALTHOUGH HER MUSIC WILL LIVE ON. sHE DID A CONCE3RTY IN WARREN, AND.250 PEOPLE WENT FORWARD AT THE ALTAR CALL. mY GODLY mOTHER WAS WITH ME THAT NITE sHE IS NOW PLAYING PIANOFOR DOTTIE AND ALSO jd JAK3E AND HOVIE.
Paul, you are absolutely right. Dottie Rambo was one of the outstanding contributors to the genre...male OR female.
She was a distinctive singer, an extraordinary songwriter, and was the face of one of the greatest groups of the 1960s and 1970s.
This egregious omission of mine is embarrassing...but it HAS inspired my next article!
So thank you Paul, for waking me up and giving me a good idea on what to write about next!:-)

Southern Sound is one of the best 4 part quartets I have ever heard. All the others are great also and it is very hard to pick a #1. I have known these guys for several years now and I just can't get enough of there message they represent from Jesus Christ through their music. If you have never heard them then please go to http://www.southersoundquartet.com, you won't be disappointed.
The song, This Storm, has been very special to me. But I have searched everywhere for the lyrics and can't seem to find them. Could you send the lyrics to me?
Well, here we go…As a young man, one of the hardest things for me to get a grip on was the fact that God loved Adolf Hitler as much as He did Billy Graham. Now, I am certain He was not pleased with Hitler’s life but this has nothing to do with His love for him. For, John 3:16 tells us God so loved the world He gave …. This means He loved everyone.
A few days ago I saw an article (http://www.anglicansunited.com/?p=5796) headlined “More than half of PCUSA Presbyterians reject Jesus as sole savior”. Maybe this should not be shocking but… John 14:6 (KJV) says, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” It would appear more than half of the Presbyterian Church USA does not believe Jesus knew what He was talking about or else was not a truth teller (liar).
Now the same Bible reads in 1st Corinthians 6:9-10 (NIV) Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
You know it really does not matter what I think but our eternal life depends on what God’s word says and someone who refuses to tell the truth because of being afraid of offending someone really does not love that person as much as they are concerned about how they themselves look (that is my opinion). And a radio station that plays gospel music and does not want to play the truth, because it may offend, is fine with me. However, I do not understand how they can call themselves “a ministry” for the Gospel of Christ.” By all means, let us not tell anyone it is a sin to lie, steal, worship other gods or live an adulteress lifestyle for we may offend them.

We are CHRISTIANS! The worldly consequences are NOTHING compared to the ETERNAL consequences! The worldly rewards are NOTHING compared to the HEAVENLY rewards! To Ed and The Mystery Men, you have had my support since the day I met you, you will continue to have my support. Remember Brother Casto's sermon, when it comes to what the world thinks; WHO CARES? Worldly consequences? WHO CARES? I care what the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, the Holy of Holies, the Great I AM, I care what HE will ask me when I stand with my life laid bare before the Judgement Seat. I care what HE thinks. Here is the true problem, there is too little fear of God Almighty in the WORLD. I fear GOD and I fear HELL. You have a choice today, people, to serve the world or to serve GOD. Joshua made a choice. I made a choice, AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE; WE WILL SERVE THE LORD! PRAISE GOD!
This is in fact one of the families BEST recordings! I have also known The family for many years, and I am honored to be working with them closely. You can get the recording digitally by going to: http://christiandigitaldownloads.com/shop/category_180/The-Chosen-Ones.html?shop_param=cid=& . This family will BLESS YOU Every time you listen to them in Concert, on the computer, in the car, or while excessing.
I too have gay friends that I dearly love. I agree with you that it doesn't change the fact. It isn't a judgement call on my part. Lord only know I have problems to work out on my own but I never call right wrong. I am grateful to God that there are still those like you who will stand up for Jesus without regard to the worldly consequences, and I likewise thank you for your efforts in proclaiming his message in song.
There is your result of NOT being willing to stand up for the Biblical Truths. Yet the song is too offensive to play. Amazing!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100303/ap_on_re_us/us_dc_gay_marriage
I agree with Ed I have folks that live that way,I don't hate them but I don't like that life style cause my bible says it is called sin. Now radio stations you need to play this song. Keep on singing it guys, behind you 100%
Amen Brother ED,Lay it on the line!! It is going to come that we as preachers aren't going to be able to stand in the pulpit & call sin sin. That is if these LIBERALS in the pulpits, congress& senate and you know who in Washington, has their way.It will be a hate crime and we will be put in jail.We are living in the days as Lot when God destroyed Sodom & Gemorrah. If homosexuality doesn't destroy America as Billy Graham said: He will have to apologize to Sodom& Gomorrah.I say preach it Brother while we still have time.I say amen, we can love the sinner and not condone the sin. Brother you can count on me jumping on the bandwagon, on this
Ed, WE LOVE THAT SONG AND WE THINK YOU NEED TO KEEP ON STANDING FIRM. DONT LET ANYONE PUSH YOU OTHERWISE. WE STAND WITH YOU AND THINK YOU NEED TO KEEP ON PLAYING/SINGING THAT SONG INFACT MAKE ANOTHER ONE SIMILAR . THE DEVIL IS RUNNING RAMPID SO STAND FIRM MY FRIEND LOVE YOU ED, BRENDA AND EARL
FYI for all of you who believe in the song we have just received word that it has been banned by yet another company that claims to be a christian broadcasting network. The company will go unmentioned but we would like to say, if you do not like the song fine but it seems a bit hypocritical to say we are no going to play it because of the message. Are we going to make a stand or are we going to once again turn our face away from the truth of the gospel.
For the life of me I do not understand however, more than ever we need your help, thoughts and prayers. Go tell your station to play it get on the band wagon. As the old Kingsmen song I used to sing says Stand Up and tell us all about it. Make the stand with us.
Eugene is now with the Patriot Quartet and can be reached on their website http://patriotquartet.com/site/
I have know the whole Reuter Family personally for almost 10 years. Their sound is so pleasant to my ears one, because they, being a musical family, blend so well together. Two, I know that they are sincere in their Love for the LORD and their dedication in all they do.
Melissa is working on her first solo CD after recording and traveling with her family for so many years. Please click on the following link to find more info.

Congrats to all. Glad to see The Sammy Glass Family nominated for 3 awards, they deserve it!!!
John,
I thought Dottie Rambo should be mentioned. She had a very major impact for many years.
Thanks,
Paul
Matt Felts is one of the brightest minds in our industry today. His kind of leadership and direction for Gospel Music in all styles really is needed today because we tend to do what everyone else has done for years without counting the cost of non growth personally. It is so refreshing to look to and through our futures eyes and see what we can accomplish if we only see the end result of not changing or tweaking our methods. I tend to see every project Gold Harbor does as a business opportunity, card, bio and partial music catalog to further our music ministry. Believe me without using our product the way today as Matt suggest we should, there will be a great chance we will not advance and will have a couple thousand disk to donate to our favorite charity and much worse not spread the Gospel as far as we could have.JR
[If your best is not good enough, you probably need to change your work ethic or vocation.
That song is awesome and so true, I for one think there is nothing wrong with the song.
I love this record. I am a huge Mike fan, and love the Crabb kids. I agree with you on the review. This combination works. Great material and the family thing make this better than Mike's last record. This group have great days ahead of them.

Thank you so much for coming to Living Waters in Fountain Valley, CA this past Sunday - I truly appreciated you and loved your message and song - you truly were used of God and completely touched me and gave me a new outlook. Thank you so much.
I do agree with this statement:
"Things we see as bad are often the things that God uses to create the most beauty."
Thanks for commenting Chris.

Why no picture with Chad? Well, as you know, we have been on the road quite alot lately and during the time we were not on the road, I was on my honeymoon. And then there is the fact that Chad is still living in central Florida and we fly him home as soon as we return to Nashville so he can be with his family as much as possible (they will be moving to Nashville on April 1st), So, we have not had time to have a photo shoot since Chad has joined the quartet. And when the article was posted they obviously just used the other photo they had on file of the quartet.
No worries, we will schedule a photo shoot with Chad soon.
ps; why no picture of Chad?
I knew this song was the truth the first time I heard it. Having homosexual family members makes family reunions very interesting, but I have never told them anything but the truth about what I believe concerning their lifestyle. And I have never shown them anything other than kindness and love as family members. Ed you and the guys keep up the good work!
Kevin,
I disagree. I do not think that we should do anything mindlessly but I do think that we need to thank God for things that are "good" as well as "bad". I use the quotes because our human view of things can be flawed. Things we see as bad are often the things that God uses to create the most beauty.
I have personal experience with the specific example you used. I would not have been able to get through the time following my father's death without saying "Thank You" to God for His death. I did not understand why it happened but I do know that there was a special peace that came from that prayer. There are times when we do not feel thankful but our willingness to say it is just what God uses to help make us thankful.
AMEN - ED - you guys keep on keepin on
Dr.Frazier, please know that you've been in my thoughts & prayers and those of many others. Your writings have been a tremendous blessing and it is a credit to the Lord & to you that in the midst of your sorrow, you are able to reach out to others in the very writing of this column.God be praised! Abbie is not so much in your past anymore as she is in your future. May He who conquered death forevermore, comfort you on every side.
Love this song, in total agreement with everything Ed has written in his comment. Love you Guys, just keep on blessing us with heartfelt music!
Congratulations, and prayers for God's blessings on many, many years of marriage and continued success with your careers!
There is not one thing wrong with this song. like ed said in this article this song is not discrimenating aganst anyone it is simply stating the truth. I my self have gay friend.and to tell you the truth sometimes they are funner to be around than my regular friends but i still do not agree with who they decide to be with. i think every radio should play this song.
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK GUYS!
Hope you have many many happy years together, congrats to both of you Jym and Christina.
Hope yu have many mnay happy years together, congrats to both of you Jym and Christina.
Thumbs up, I LOVE THAT SONG lol!!!!
Thanks for the warm welcome and you thoughtful comment Chris. I think you have some good points. I'd like to "unpack" one thing a little more.
"In ALL things give thanks"
I think it is a VERY healthy practice to FIND things you can be thankful for.. in ANY situation... it makes us think.. it makes us better... it makes us MORE thankful.
Gratitude is one of the healthiest emotions we can feel.
With that said, let's say a dear family member dies. I don't think that the Lord WANTS us to thank him for a death, but rather He WANTS us to look deep inside for SOMETHING to be thankful for.. say it was that persons walk or influence in our life, maybe it was as simple as the fact that if not for THAT person, You'd not be here.
So, in my very humble opinion, we should FIND things to REALLY be thankful for, not just mindlessly thank Him for whatever is dealt.

We don't have any current contact information on Richard and his website is no longer working, so I don't know how you could obtain the recording.
This article would not be complete without mentioning Chris Freeman who was one of the most popular female singers of the seventies, winning several Queen of Gospel Music awards.
Also, Debra Talley has to be mentioned as well along with daughter Lauren as well as Kim Greene Hopper.
hi, my name is mary, i love that song " without you" this song is so hard to find. could i get some help finding it. i heard it on solid gospel 105 nashville, tn. i have tried to call and email the station, i have had no progress finding it. god bless you, i thank you all for your help.

Thank you, Ann and Soundman!
I should have mentioned Naomi...she surely was one of the most prominent female singers of gospel music.
The Sego Brothers and Naomi recording of "Sorry, I Never Knew You" is a classic and one of the biggest selling gospel music records of all time!
Ya got me(turning red with embarrassment)!

Thanks for including me, John!!!
You mentioned the White Sisters...they were heroines to me in the late 50's early 60's. My sister gave me a record by them and I learned every word of the songs...one of my very first records to play on that little brown hi-fi player
. First time I heard "He Hideth My Soul"...and I love it to this day!!!
Hello Bill,
Bill is one of the greatest tenors ever and above all he is a genuine gentleman who loves the Lord and what he sings about. Keep it up Bill. We need more like you to look up to. I wish our youth of today would follow your leadership in life and music.
Thanks,
Dwight
Kevin,
It's good to have you blogging here. Welcome!
I agree with what you are saying but I have a little different perspective to add. The Bible says "In EVERYTHING give thanks"(caps added for emphasis). That 'Everything' does not only include the things we like or are happy about but also the things we do not. I have dealt with some hard things in the past and found that when I give thanks for things that I don't understand, that are 'bad,' that God gives more grace. It is hard to complain about something and thank God for it at the same time. Further, since God has promissed that all things work together for good if we are called to His purpose; it is an even greater miracle when we are thanking Him for something that the world, and our nature tells us is bad, and then He shows us why He had us in those situations.
Maybe you are booking small churches that just can't give enough to cover your expenses. You want bigger churches and more of them. God knows that there is someone in each of those little churches you are in, who needs to hear a song or testimony you are bringing before, or in the midst of a new trial. They would never hear that word if you were in some other church.
Maybe that singer with the poor voice needs this time or refreshing, being surounded by brothers and/or sisters in Christ who can bear their burdens with them.
Our relationship with God is unique. He is our slave-master as well as our Father. As our master we owe Him the Thanks no matter what, as our Father we can be assured that He will give us what is best because He loves us so much.
One of the outstanding Female Vocalist from The 1950's is Naomi Sego, who is still performing Today. Her Husband and Brother-In-Law,James and W.R.Sego were known as,"Naomi And The Sego Brothers",and were Featured on many of "The Wally Fowler All Nite Singings".

Sorry, typo on our part. Too many late-night edits.
I am a BIG.. HUGE Booth Brothers fan and follower. And it's wonderful that Lari Goss is producing their latest CD.
However, when you describe Lari Goss as "long time Booth Producer" I am perplexed.
I thought I had EVERY album they've ever done, and I don't see where Lari Goss has EVER produced a Booth Brothers CD. Am I missing one? Please let me know so I can purchase it.
thanks

I sencond the notion that us WV boys have to stick together. I have had the privilage of being in Dean's record room and I think it needs a little more anointing. Just kidding Dean.
