As we say goodbye to 2011, I started to think about all of the wonderful and not so wonderful things that have happened this year. It has seemed to be the year of never ending change and challenge. While thinking about this past year, I began to hear a phrase from many different sources, as if God were trying to tell me something. “This is going to be our year!” Referring to 2012…and I couldn’t agree more. I am already a generally positive person and definitely believe in trusting in God for positive outcomes, but this phrase is more than that.
This is the year of change, and I’m not referring to a presidential campaign…I mean mind, body and soul kind of change. Change that takes dedication and more than anything else, takes a change of heart. 2012 is going to be the year we see miracles like in the Old Testament! And I don’t know about you, but I want to be surrounded by it.
“This is going to be our year” as Christians to take a stand for what is right, as Christians to make changes for the better, as Christians to forgive, as Christians to let go of the baggage, as Christians to see souls saved, as Christians to prepare for the coming of our Lord. I’m not saying that this is going to be the year for His return, I don’t KNOW that. But I think we all can agree that there is a definite change in the air! I hope you are all with me in saying that this year instead of breakable resolutions; it is time for us to make life altering changes. As my favorite lyrics from a John Mandeville song “I want what You want, more than I want anything; I want what You want for me.” I truly do want this and hope you are with me. As you face many trials and God pushes you in good, but sometimes scary ways…remember “This is your year!”
So, are ready to make that change? Are you ready to make the kind of commitment that He wants from us? I know I still have a lot of preparation to make, but more than anything I know “This is MY year” And through Him all things are possible!
